Character Backstory(10-20 lines):
Tar’la was born in the Borderworld, Xen, and so grew up knowing what it was like to be enslaved. He was an only child, with only his mother to care for him, as his father had passed away days before his birth. At the age of 10 Tar’la learned little of the Vortessence and regularly practiced it. At the age of 50 he had learned to control his powers. Tar’la spent most of his days slaving away in a factory, until the time of the resonance cascade when their master Nihilanth began to send the Vortigaunts to the Black Mesa Facility. Having being brought up by only his mother, who was a pacifist, and seeing another Vortigaunt killed in front of his eyes he retreated and found a storage closet which he hid in. A while passed and Tar’la heard two Vortigaunts communicating and learnt the news of Nihilanth’s death and the freedom of his kind. Tar’la was overcome with happiness and confusion, having never experienced true freedom before and not being entirely sure what to do with himself. His happiness was short lived, as later the Combine found Earth and the Seven Hour War commenced. Along with other Vortigaunts Tar’la tried to find somewhere to hide, and together they survived the war, constantly moving hideouts as to not be found. Unfortunately Tar’la and his group were eventually found by the Combine, Tar’la being the only one left alive. The other Vortigaunts had attempted to fight the Combine, however their resistance only cost them their lives, and being his mother’s son Tar’la was the only one who did not fight, fearing for his life. He was captured by the Combine and taken to be a slave.

/me sweeps the floor with his mop.
/me places his mop back in the bucket to soak up more water
/me continues mopping the floor, cleaning the blood up from the fight
/me places his mop in the bucket, leaving in there and withdrawing a cloth from his belt
/me soaks the cloth in water from the bucket
/me begins scrubbing the bloodied wall vigorously
/me drains the cloth before placing it back in a pouch on his belt
/me wheels the bucket away to a new spot
/me withdraws the mop and resumes cleaning
/me sighs in despair

Why do you want to be a Vortigaunt?: Mainly for an interesting RP experience, however also as vortigaunt isn’t the most popular class at the moment, however it is getting more popular.
